Great storage, loud operationDec 27, 2006
By Reb I got two of these for my husband, but I installed the software, units, and loaded the CDs myself, and I'm somewhat technophobic. You go to the company website and download the instruction manual and software. You plug in one power cord (ten units can share one power cord), use one USB cord (again, ten units can share), and to add more units, you simply stack them (up to ten high and somehow you can link up to 127 of these together), as there is a daisy chain embedded in each unit top and bottom and they lock together when you stack. Open the program you downloaded, then attach the USB to the unit and then the computer, and you are off and running. I added 200 CDs in about three hours. It is mind numbing, but once it is done the results are magic! Everything is organized and easy to find. Who knew we had so many duplicates? The units are loud and slow (up to 7 seconds to eject), but I'm in no hurry and the noise isn't horrendous. They look nifty, seem sturdy, and we're buying more, as I ran out of room. I told my husband I knew we were staying married forever now because our music collections are inseperable in our ProjectLab Century CD organizers.
Edited to add: the daisy chain on one of them was broken and we had to send it back. We had a terrible time working with the vendor, computergeeks, who would not answer our emails, calls, or return messages. They sell this unit on Amazon. We finally were able to get the RMA and return it and got our money back. We have four units now, two completely filled, two waiting to be filled, and are very happy with them.

What a waste of money...Feb 07, 2009
By Steven Burns Just until today, this product had been wonderful. Actually, I just deleted my old five-star review in order to write this one instead.
What happened? well, basically it got stuck. It wouldn't spin anymore for no apparent reason and I couldn't get my CD/DVDs out. Nice...
This wasn't the first time it got stuck but all the previous times the culprit was a CD halfway in through the opening.
But today there was nothing preventing the unit from rotating yet it won't spin. It will only make some awful noise. I tried shaking it a little bit, still no luck.
In the end I had to disassemble the unit getting several of my CD/DVDs scratched in the process and two of my fingers hurt.
I regret having wasted my money and time with this product. Stay away from it for your own good.

Good While it LastedDec 17, 2009
By Jarrett Heintz Like another reviewer mentioned, this product is great until it breaks. I was running it on Win 7 for about two weeks and suddenly it just stopped functioning. I understand the company has folded and support is seemingly nonexistent. I would spend a little extra and go with a product that is well supported. I'm very disappointed in this machine.

Get a manually operated system insteadDec 26, 2009

"Cat"
We had this for about half a year. It repeatedly would quit working and I would have to unplug it and reboot the computer about weekly. Then a message started appearing about a fatal error unable to retrieve file about every other day. There was NO support available for this. Finally at the end of its life, it completely quit working and we had to tear apart the case - this is NOT easy. There were disc casualties and injured hands involved.
Now we have a Discgear manual retriever - it is very easy to organize and you do not have to worry about the computer file going bad, or having discs stuck where you cannot retrieve them.

Needs some work....Aug 13, 2007
By C. Davila We bought this knowing that it would help us organize the tons of dvds and cds we have in our house. We were extremely disappointed. First, there were NO INSTRUCTIONS! My boyfriend works in an IT department and it took him an hour to figure out how the thing was supposed to work with sorry organizing software it came with. Honestly, we could deal with that. Then there was the device itself. The dvd/cd just "rolls in" as if you were rolling it across the floor! Then, to expel the dvd/cd, a lever actually pops the side of the cd to make it come out of the slot.
This isn't my idea of how to store my valuables. We will save our money and buy the way more expensive cd organizer also available on Amazon.com
