4they work fine with pioneer bdr-205 (firmware 1.11)Jul 14, 2011

Worked just fine with my Pioneer BDR-205 drive (1.11 firmware).. I was able to write at a constant 6x speed.

I gave it 4 stars because the disks are very expensive at $49.50 for 10 pack..

4Good value BD-R DLJan 07, 2012

Purchased this 10-pack twice already. Was very pleased to receive the discs in a sealed cakebox instead of pictured individual discs in paper envelopes.

The BD-R themselves are made by CMC. Media code of these discs is CMCMAG-DI6-000. Same media is also sold under the Optical Quantum brand.

Burned with Pioneer BDR-205 (firmware ver. 1.12) at 4x, no coasters so far. The drive recognizes maximum speed as 8x.

Recommend those who use Pioneer BDR-205 burner to upgrade firmware to the latest version. Pioneer web site specifically mentions improvements in CMC media burning including the ability to burn 6x media at 8x. Considering the price of BD-R DL media, I stick to burning at 2x-4x speeds as it proved to be more reliable not only during the actual burn but also for playback in variety of drives and devices.

Overall, good quality media for a reasonable price. The only con so far is visually unappealing top logo surface.

And as mentioned in the product description, this media doesn't work work in LG burners.

5Work Just FineMay 01, 2012

I've burned a few and so far so good!!! Not a bad price either considering the price of 50gb disks is just wrong in general, You can buy the smaller quantity and get a good price as well if you dont feel like spending the fortune for a large spindle.

These babies were awesome! Purchased two packs and not a single coaster! Am buying more immediately. Great quality at a cant-be-beat price.

56 Perfect Burns out of 6Nov 20, 2011

Not sure what I expected, but this product certainly has met (and possibly exceeded) them.

So far I've burned 6 discs (at 4x) and all have been perfect. I'm using ImgBurn and a Pioneer BDR-205 (with firmware level 1.11).

Even though I have an I7-930 system with 9GB and HDD Drive-2-Drive transfer rates into 90-100MB/sec range, I don't think the transfer rate on the Pioneer (relative to other devices on my system) is fast enough to support 6x burns. It possibly could, but I think that would be pushing the upper limit on the transfer rates I've seen for verify (which is read speed) from this SATA device.

But so far I'm quite happy with the results.

The two negatives for this product are the price (about $5 per disc), and the absolutely stupid insistence by the maker to plaster their large logo on the top 1/2 of the disc (where normally I would write a title). Basically they provide only a small area at the bottom of each disc where you can write information. I put my discs in thin cases which I flip through...which means I need the disc title information at the TOP of the disc (not the bottom). And so for these discs, I'm stuck rotating the disc upside down so I can put the title at the top. Maxell and Kodak are even worse in this respect.
