Solid Access Point, WPA-Enterprise Setup is Clean.Dec 21, 2007
By Benjamin Michael Chan Unit is solid and sturdy and has a bit of a utilitarian look to it. The software that comes with it lets you manage multiples of these devices at a time at a layer 2 level, meaning even if you don't know what it's IP address it, it'll find it and you can set it.
I had never setup WPA enterprise before, so it took a little bit of googling and trial and error, but I did get this going.
Device seems "faster" than the Linksys WAP54G we have been using.
I will be getting additional units to replace all the SOHO Linksys & Dell APs we've got in our organization all currently running WEP...

ManagerSep 28, 2007
By H. Anastas Our resort needed a stronger product for our wireless. The DWL3200AP was recommended. We updated our wireless to the DWL3200AP and the response was well worth the purchase.

Outstanding product, and the price...wow!!Oct 09, 2008
By Jose Ramirez I have had this access point for a year now. I have only had to restart it once and I think it was because of instability in the LAN in general. It works 100% of the time. I configured it via its web-based interface and never had to touch it again. In the reliability department it is just 110% excellent.
Feature-wise is also 5 stars. I won't mention everything because you can see detailed information in the DLink website, but you can secure it using various protocols, you can exclude specific MAC addresses, and the AP logs everything. I have not used it, but the AP can log directly to a server (SQL server, I think). It doesn't say anywhere, and I had to ask DLink support about this: It supports 64 simultaneous clients and its range is VERY good. I use it indoors in a 2-story house. The device is in the second floor, near the center of the house (which is about 10 meters wide and about 18 meters deep) and it covers indoors entirely, both floors! Conceded, on the first floor there are spots where I get a poor signal, but even with poor signals, I am never disconnected and I still get 11 MBps, which is way more than enough for Internet browsing (I have cable, 2 MBps, that translates to 230 kb/s approx.).
And let's have a look at the price: AMAZINGLY CHEAP! If you cannot cover your house with one, then get 2! If I ever have problems in an area, I'm sure I'll buy a second one without a second thought. This thing is rock-solid, the mounting is discrete, the antennas can be positioned, you can configure which antenna to use... I'll stop now because it is never-ending. :-) Buy with confidence!

Great productDec 11, 2007
By Jestep Installed to replace some older Linksys wireless equipment. Works very well as an access point in a medium to large network. Allows DHCP pass-through without any problem. We're easily getting 100ft range at 80 - 100% through 4 - 5 walls in all directions. Coverage still available about 20% at 200 ft. This access point has very solid, reliable range, and supports a wide range of access protocols and security. POE is great if you currently have a POE enabled network, but this router is well worth it even if you don't.
It doesn't have any sort of firewall or filtering built-in so the home user should definitely use a separate hardware firewall upstream of this. I don't think this was designed with the home user in mind, but I would gladly use this in a the large house.
awesomeAug 30, 2011
By robert this AP is excellent, many environments i support use them, being poe we can stash them up in the ceiling and if they need power cycling the ethernet can just be unplugged from the switch. i ordered 4 of these about 10:30 am and recieved them same day before 4:00pm stellar service, would definately order again.
