Be aware of how to deal with your printer's default software messagesMay 12, 2011
By Maureen Yes, it can be a pain trying to use re-manufactured cartridges. That is because most printer software is designed to make the user believe that they MUST purchase brand new, manufacture recommended ink cartridges. Most printer companies don't make money off of selling their printers; They make money from us when we buy their ink! Now that that is clear, in order for re-manufactured ink cartridges to work, it is important to follow instructions on how to deal with error messages. A good seller of re-manufactured cartridges will give you a clear, simple set of instructions to follow. And sure, That same software that wants you to buy their brand only, and only "accepts" new cartridges, will tell you that "ink is low" or "ink is out" when it is not necessarily so. This is a pain, but I feel it is worth putting up with because of the great cost savings. Also, I believe in free enterprise, and it makes me laugh and smile when I can "stick it to those greedy companies" who would charge us a dollar every time we take a breath, if they could. All my ranting and raving aside, this cartridge is just FINE. I have found that the quality of the print is not 100%, but the "genuine HP" was NO BETTER. So, for most projects like school papers, etc. this ink cartridge is fine. And you save a TON of money! One final note: I do not hate the HP company - They are not perfect, but they do make great laptops and some other very good products. So far, their HP 6500 all-in-one printer is doing fine with copies & print jobs. But my beef is with the way nearly all companies try to "hook" you into buying MORE AND MORE of their ink, or whatever. Cell phone carriers are no better - You can be spending $150 a month on a family plan, and the company tries to force you into buying a data plan ($30 per person!) just so you can use your new "free upgrade" phone......There is an element of endless greed at work, and this is what I take exception to.

Multiple sellers make any reviews here pointlessJul 09, 2011
By Robert C. Duke I knew this might be an issue prior to purchasing, but keep in mind that there are multiple sellers. This is not a standardized product - the companies are remanufacturing these themselves, so a single rating for multiple companies makes no sense (one of my only knocks on Amazon).
The unit I received was already busted open on arrival. When I removed the plastic wrap on it, ink spilled over me. I ordered from OC Products (all reviewers in this type of listing should specify which company they purchased from). The default shipper changes to whoever offers the lowest price, but I went with OC because they had a good seller rating. OC Products was quick to respond when I emailed them about the cartridge being unusable, and they offered to refund my purchase immediately. So I gave 3 stars here - 1 for product and 5 for service (for OC). Could have just been a bad unit from OC, and with their service, I wouldn't fear trying again, but I found a multi-pack of these on an online auction site for a good price.

Extremely pleased!Apr 29, 2011

I ordered an ink cartridge from this seller. Upon receiving the item, I did receive clear instructions for installing the refilled ink cartridge. My printer gave me problems in not allowing the new item to work. I contacted the seller and within a few hours had further instructions to assist me. They were helpful and within minutes I had a working printer with working ink cartridge. I am grateful for the personal attention this seller gave to me. I will order from this seller in the future with no hesitation!

convert to reman'd ink cartridgesSep 30, 2011

I was conflicted about used ink cartridges over the fullprice name brand ones and was pleasantly surprised. I chose this company fullfilled by amazon.com because of the comments posted by others attesting to their customer service in the rare event that something went wrong. The price was half of the office supply stores, it came coast to coast in 3 days and I only had to go to my mailbox for it. The instructions were clear, easy to follow, and simple. I am very well satisfied with this purchase.

Still pleasedJun 05, 2011
By Craig M Finnicum I originally purchased this item, and reviewed it as a great buy. It installed easily and worked fine. However after very light use it stopped printing after a week (maybe 25-50 pages). But it was still full of ink. I wrote a polite email to the company and they PROMPTLY sent a replacement NO-CHARGE. So I am now back to printing and all is working fine. Note: HP printers will not read ink level, but this is true for all re-filled cartridges. Also, the company prepared me for that. Will buy again. $10 sure beats $40. Great folks in my mind.
