Functional and easy to use.Sep 25, 2010
By Mac Noguchi This bluetooth GPS receiver has a good accuracy if compared with the GPS integrated mobile phones.
Easy to pair with the mobile phone models used in my family (Nokia 5530, E71 and N900)
The only problem is that you can not use GPS and recharges in the same time, because it over heats and stop to recharge.
For this problem does not happen, you need to recharge without using the GPS, so you get a full charge in your GPS receiver.

Holux M-1000 bluetooth GPSApr 27, 2010

On the plus side, the unit performs very well, and is much more sensitive than my wired GPS unit. It also works well with my Samsung smart-phone, which didn't come with GPS built-in. It locks in quickly (usually less than a minute) and accuracy is acceptable for driving needs. It works very well with GoogleMaps and Streets&Trips.
On the downside:
1. The unit came with the wrong program CD, which was supposed to have a diagnostic program for testing. The website had the download, but only in a zip format that required downloading a trial of win-zip to open it. The unit did, however, work with my other GPS diagnostic program.
2. The unit comes with no AC adapter, and must be charged from the car.
3. The setup for use with a bluetooth phone is anything but simple. The instructions are not clear and required several hours of experimentation to mate the two successfully. The ports and connection speed had to be set manually on my phone (windows mobile 6.1).
All said, the unit performs satisfactorily and the battery life is acceptable, but I was a little disappointed in the support available by self-help.
Excellent productOct 26, 2010
By Michelle Best Love these GPS units. Love the fact that they have an on/off switch and don't just randomly shut off when not in use. Compact and durable. Transaction was excellent.
Holux M-1000Oct 02, 2009
By J. Lippencott Have had no problems at all with this receiver. I am using it with my iPAQ 211 Pocket PC & its built-in Bluetooth, also Tom Tom software for navigating. The combo works just like the dedicated GPS dashboard units.
I was surprised to find that it will receive up to 8 satellites from indoors (wood frame building). Have not yet tested it in the canyons of Manhattan or in the woods with heavy tree cover.
Recommended to anyone needing a portable, reliable, and very compact Bluetooth GPS receiver.
Awesome receiver!Jan 09, 2009
By Andrew Barker This GPS receiver is awesome! It's about the size of a small box of matches and fits easily in my pocket. I have had it running for about 8 hours straight without issues and found it very easy to use with both my ASUS MyPal 626 and my laptop using Delorme Street Atlas 2008. It gets signal much faster than the receiver that came with Street Atlas (it takes about 8-10 seconds) and is more accurate. The software that comes with it is a joke but I would definitely recommend it since you don't need the software!
