5Great ValueSep 01, 2009
By Nathan Bell
It's hard to tell from the picture and description online, but this is a great bag. It has a ton of pockets with snaps, zippers, and velco; it's very sturdy; and it's well worth the price.

5Awesome BagDec 28, 2010
By M. Bryant
I love this bag. I've had it for about a year now. It's faded in the sun very nicely. Really has that rugged old military drab look. I've used it as a laptop case, as a briefcase, as an art bag and most recently as a shooter's bag. It fits just about anything I've tried to put in it (within reason of course) and I always have plenty of pockets for whatever I need. Every guy should have one of these.

All it's missing is a MOLLE mesh. That would really be cool.

5Exactly what I was looking for.Mar 26, 2012

This bag is exactly what I was looking for to carry random items on a daily basis and my laptop(s) when traveling. The strap adjusts so that it can be worn cross body which fulfilled a need that I didn't even know I had when I chose this bag. I'm very pleased with my purchase.

5The bad first.Nov 21, 2011
By Doyle
If you're like me, you read the bad reviews of a product first. Don't on this product. It isn't too big - IT IS THE DIMENSIONS IN THE DESCRIPTION. It does have a water bottle pocket, and as far as weight is concerned - don't put more in it than you can carry.

I can see some concern with the metal clasps and fitting on this product - but they're also metal. You'll have worn a few holes in the bag before you've broken them. The canvas is fantastic and stitching seems very sturdy. It beats the poo out of my old Rothco bag (which I wore through in 9 months). To waterproof, just wax the canvas.

It is a good size to carry 2 big textbooks and a laptop, as well as all your other goodies (notebooks, paper, pencils, maybe even a 3-ring binder). If you want more than that, get a backpack.

3Cool bag, but I really haven't used it as much as I thought...Aug 20, 2011
By S. Santi "Gadget Saint"
This is a cool-looking, military-style bag made with a soft-feel canvas. It is NOT small and would look funny, for example, if a 5' 1" person was carrying it around. The material makes it a heavier bag to carry as opposed to a nylon gym bag. It has a lot of storage space and a lot of flaps and places to put stuff. It even has a fold-out plastic window on one side. Like I said, it's a neat bag. I think the bag is made well, but it is a bag probably more useful to a college student on campus rather than a working stiff like myself. I could also envision it being used by a someone with a profession in the field - engineer, home inspector, general contractor. You could use it to carry a thin laptop, but you'd need to put a piece of foam at the bottom of the bag for protection. This would also make the bag a little on the heavy side. The shoulder strap is very comfortable and all stitching looks real solid. Because of this, I will be using it for an upcoming vacation as a carry on. It can easily accommodate my XOOM Tablet, Kindle, snacks, notebook, headphones, keys, small overnight cosmetic bag, small point-n-shoot camera, monocular, my Fantasy Football magazines, MP3 player, and more! But because it's less suitable for the average office-working 'Joe', I really haven't used the bag as much as I thought - until now. The only thing making me think twice about using it as my carry on is the fold-over flap design of the bag. I know this is the style, but I'm the more the type that wants to unzip and reach in as opposed to unclasping and whipping open - especially when I'm flying coach! Summary: this is a very specific type of bag for a very specific type of need. If you're not real sure that you can use a military utility bag like this, you're better off buying something else.
