Don't pay too much for thisOct 01, 2010

This is a discontinued item. Motorola no longer supports it -- and they dropped it like a hot rock.
It's supposed to come with 6 months worth of service & updates -- good luck with that.
Also, getting this to work with 3rd party software (Google maps, Bing) is very difficult to impossible.
Actually, I had some difficulty getting it to work with the included software. The device's LED indicator would imply it was connected to my phone (Motorola Q9M) but the Motonav software denied it. I tried everything, eventually resetting the phone to it's default state (and wiping everything on it). At last, the software recognized the device.
At this point the device & navigation software work quite well. The device grabs satellites quickly and keeps a strong signal. The software seems straight forward and has the nice feature of synthesized-voice street names. However, I can't say yet how old & out-of-date the maps are yet. And traffic alerts, etc. are out of the question.
In summary, this -may- work for your old, GPS-deprived phone. But, don't pay too much for it -- if you can get it for < $20 (as I did), and don't mind a bit of tinkering, it may be worth the risk.
