 Far and away the finest case for iPad or iPad 2Apr 27, 2011

I have been a saddleback leather fan for quite some time. They make excellent products that last. I finally got the iPad case a few weeks ago and have to say this is far and away the finest case for the iPad around.
Pros:
- superior protection for iPad
- Looks awesome!
- Very useful as a stand (horizontal)
- iPad 2 case has appropriate cutouts for cameras
- the most durable case you can find.
Cons:
- There is some 'break in' that needs to be done. Simply using the case will make it happen over the course of a couple of weeks.
- No real option for use as a vertical stand.
- it is weighty - adds to the bulk and weight of the iPad and iPad 2
I have added a matte screen protector to my iPad and this case has no issues with interference.
I like the case - I like the products that the company makes in general. This is classy, durable, and functional. What more do you want?

I chose the Saddleback Leather IPad Case Cover as a Christmas gift for my husband. Although the craftsmanship and beauty were without compare, I unfortunately ordered the IPad Case instead of the IPad 2 Case. Disappointed by my error, I returned the case, not knowing what to expect, as this was my first purchase from the company. I found the folks at Saddleback and their customer service to be above and beyond awesome! Interacting with them during the return process was as though I was corresponding with old friends. The case was exchanged in a timely manner; and, as the first one, the craftsmanship was again beautiful. I enthusiastically recommend this product and company to all who desire the highest quality coupled with A+ customer service. I am now one of Saddleback's biggest fans!

Expectations vastly exceededDec 27, 2011

I ordered a Saddleback Leather Chestnut iPad 2 case after reading many reviews and watching several YouTube videos. I was drawn to the case because the reviews were overwhelmingly favorable and the design, features and appearance were unique.
I waited anxiously for the case to arrive and as soon as it did, dropped what I was doing a placed my iPad 2 in its new home. I marvelled at how well it fit, looked and felt. The leather smelled like a high quality pair of new boots and the workmanship was outstanding. The leather straps that secure the case are also used to support it when opened (sounds complicated, but it's not and works very well). The cutouts for the front and rear cameras match up precisely, as do the Home and volume buttons. There are no moving parts that might break off and the stitching used on the case is a high-strength marine thread that, like the leather, is extremely high quality and durable.
Saddleback Leather is a Texas-based company that appears to manufacture its products in Mexico from hides sourced in TX. I have no problem with any of this as Mexico is part of NAFTA and the raw materials and company are from IOWEUSA. And having purchased other leather goods from MX, I've always been please with the value proposition.
Perhaps the highest compliment about my case came from my wife, who owns nearly every purse ever made by Coach. She loved the look, feel and design of this case, and wants one for the iPad 3 she intends to order when it's announced. In short, I couldn't be happy with this heirloom-quality (they're guaranteed for 100 years) case.

Nice case for my Ipad it turns a lot of heads in the workspace. Saddleback does a good job on thier goods.

This was a gift for an Engineer son who thought it was teriffic, extremely well made and would protect the iPad very well.
