Could not find this item anywhere elseOct 27, 2010

Good price, fast shipping and the product was something I could not find elsewhere. A major computer parts retailer had sold me a 1.8in SSD and the wrong adapter for the device. Even on a second try they did not ship an adapter that worked (even though the second time the adapter at least fit together (as to the correct size connectors and the correct gender.) But Beach Audio came through with the correct adapter and saved me !

I bought this cable to try to recover data from a 1.8" HDD that would no longer boot using a USB to SATA adapter. The USB to SATA adapter only provided 12V and 5V so I could not access the drive on my first attempt. I was not able to find a 3.3V power supply easily, but connecting two diodes in series from the red (5V) wire to the orange (3.3V)wire got me close enough to 3.3V across the range of currents drawn by the HDD to successfully access all data except for a few damaged folders in the OS directory. The cable shipped quickly and did everything it was supposed to.
