replaced the 8G factory SS drive in my Dell mini 9 which was too small to be useable. also upgraded RAM from 500M to 1G. Now I've got a nice machine. Followed internet instructions to build a usb boot/install thumb drive to format and install windows

Horrid product! - Please read before you purchase.Jul 01, 2011
By Lek I purchased this for a Dell Mini-9 netbook, the original 4gb STEC drive failed. I was hoping for a slight increase in performance, and a large increase in size. What I did no realize was the major flaw behind these drives. It is a widely known issue with these, that Windows runs VERY VERY slow. My HD tune tests return ~60mbs max read speeds, however, they also show a minimum read speed of .8mbs (Point 8, not 8). That is ridiculously slow. There are major lag points for this unit, it can take up to 10 seconds just for me to click start and for it to react under Windows 7. The install on Windows was fairly quick (slow than my other netbooks however), so I thought this would be an okay purchase. It turns out that this was one of the worst computer purchases I have ever made. Before you fall into this trap, make sure to Google: "FEM32GFDL slow". The company has admitted to this unit being flawed, and the only fix they have is for you to buy the new updated model (This one on Amazon is NOT the model). This is NOT an issue with just my drive, and I did not receive a flawed unit, this is an ongoing issue with these.
Do not make the same mistake I did, this is a pathetic excuse for a drive.

Dell Mini 9 UpgradeOct 22, 2010
By Larry I bought this to upgrade my Dell Mini 9 that only had an 8 gig drive. It installed very easily and XP sp3 installed quickly. The only problem that I see is that the formatted capacity is nowhere near 32 gig. I know about how hard drive capacity ratings are determined but really .... 28.7 gig or 30,869,733,376 bytes is 1.2 gig or so short of their standards.
The only other thing I can think of was Amazon gave VERY slow service on this order. Order date on the 5th received on the 22nd.

Randomly stalls the system, widely reported problem with this modelJun 25, 2011
By Joe Germacelli I purchased this SSD for my Dell Mini 9 as a storage and performance upgrade. (I didn't want to spend the extra cash for the RunCore, and the transfer rate specs on this drive are similar) Unfortunately, this SSD seems to have serious problems with random delays/stalls. I googled this and found that many people are having this same issue. Worse yet, SuperTalent's "support" answer is that they know about it and that customers should buy their new model. (Seriously???) Not to mention the new "G" models are not even for sale anywhere, even if you were willing to give more money to a company that sells garbage and tells you to just buy the newer version. I'm very, very disappointed with this drive and would never buy anything from SuperTalent ever again.
Recover and update in one shotJan 05, 2012
By KenD Saw many negatives written on this item and did not experience one. Replaces 8G(FAILD) DELL ssd and loaded XP fresh. No complaints.
