This is one of the worst external DVD writer. Although said that its plug and play, but its not. Moreover it doesn't comes with any drivers. You can write CDs but writing DVD's is a mess.

I use this with a Panasonic laptop to burn home DVDs and pics to disc. It does great with the digital camcorder data too. I just have it plugged into the laptop with no external power and it works great. I have had zero problems with this burner, using it frequently, after having it a year.

I reallly like the size of this external cd/dvd drive. I am using it with an Acer Aspire One and it is really a good plug and play.
